Same if you are mostly downtown, Dupont, Logan... But for a lot of south-north riding, downtown to, say, Petworth every day would have that long uphill climb so you might think twice about a 3-speed.Bill Crandallhttp://dccycling.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7807041779666042082.post-89885227708361297442010-12-10T09:58:35.460-05:002010-12-10T09:58:35.460-05:00I agree. Do yo...I agree. I think this a great looking bike.

Do you think a 3 speed hub would be adequate for DC?BOTMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03680316709708939401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7807041779666042082.post-18187777822868494592010-12-09T18:55:19.126-05:002010-12-09T18:55:19.126-05:00On a different page they have a photo gallery of t...On a different page they have a photo gallery of the bike in action, it's people meandering through charming scenes, all cozy, serene urbanity, shopping and flowers in the front basket... aannnnd - helmets. Kind of jarring and incongruous. What are they implying will happen in such a paradise? ;) Not surprising, of course.

http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/story/eco_design/ (at the bottom)Billhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12034726632519174817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7807041779666042082.post-69036667063090186322010-12-09T18:04:49.656-05:002010-12-09T18:04:49.656-05:00Cool! I put fenders on the Trek I was using before I got my Batavus, but the fenders didn't fit properly because the bike wasn't really designed for them.

This bike almost looks a bit like an Opus city cruiser. They just need to change the handlebars a bit to make it more upright.

Thanks for sharing this Bill.James D. Schwartzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04454437680686627778noreply@blogger.com
